Summary

The effect of vacuum pressure on vacuum precooling is experimentally researched. High vacuum will speed up the cooling process while it makes the mass loss increase. The vacuum pressure should be selected according to the cooling speed and mass loss after considering the factors such as material property, surface condition and quantity. The mass loss per temperature degree decrease can be used as an important criterion of vacuum pressure selection.
