EXPERIMENTAL SIMULATION OF A HOUSEHOLD REFRIGERATOR USING ALTERNATIVE REFRIGERANTS AND CYCLES.

Summary

A TEST STAND WAS DEVELOPED TO SIMULATE A HOUSEHOLD REFRIGERATOR. INITIAL WORK HAS BEEN PERFORMED ON THE STANDARD REFRIGERATION AND LORENZ CYCLES. MEASUREMENTS WERE MADE OF THE COEFFICIENT OF PERFORMANCE (COP) OF THE CYCLE AND OF THE REFRIGERANT CAPACITY FOR VARIOUS LOAD CONDITIONS. R12 WAS USED AS A REFERENCE TO ESTABLISH THE ACCURACY OF THE TEST STAND, OTHER REFRIGERANTS WERE THEN STUDIED, INCLUDING R134A.
