Experimental studies of R717/R152a mixture in small ammonia refrigeration machines.

Summary
The results of experimental studies of ammonia compressor Bock F2-NH3 operating on R717/R152a mixture at different concentrations are presented in the article. It was established that the addition of refrigerant R152a into ammonia increases the cooling capacity and significantly improves the performance characteristics of compressor operation. The analysis of experimental data has shown that R717/R152a mixture (50/50), kg/kg, had optimal power and performance characteristics. In the process of refrigeration machine operation on the researching mixture in the proposed concentration, the compressor operating temperatures were reduced on 3-22 °C, and oil circulation in the refrigerating machine loop which had a positive impact on the oil reverse to the compressor was provided. R717/R152a mixture can extend the area of utilization of small ammonia refrigeration machines and make them safer.
