Summary
A prototype Joule-Thomson-cycle refrigerator using two adsorption-desorption thermal compressors running on the activated carbon-nitrogen pair was tested experimentally with success. With this prototype temperatures close to 100 K can be reached with a cycle duration of around one hour. The theoretical model developed in parallel gives a faithful representation of the operation of the prototype and constitutes an interesting study tool.
