Experimental study of water retention and drainage characteristics of corrugated louver fin.

Number: pap. ID: 143

Author(s) : QI Z. G., WEI W., SHI J. Y., et al.

Summary

In this paper, two corrugated louver fins with different geometries were tested in small wind tunnel equipment. The water retention and drainage characteristics of the louver fin were studied based the experimental data. The test results show that retention mass on louver fin surface is dominated by fin’s structure and size. More water is retained between shorter fins. With the increase of air velocity and inclination angle, retention mass will decrease and easily be drained because of the increasing air flow force.
