Experimental study on adiabatic absorption of vapour into LiBr aqueous solution in the absorber with structured packings.

Author(s) : WANG L., CHEN G., WANG Q.

Summary

The study on the adiabatic absorption performance of the absorber is performed experimentally. The adiabatic absorber is filled with stainless steel structured packing which is characterized by the big specific surface area and the small pressure loss in the absorber where the water vapour is adiabatically absorbed into the lithium bromide aqueous solution. Temperature distribution in the absorber with the packing was tested in operation. Absorption performance of the adiabatic absorber with the structured packing was compared with that of those without packing. It was shown from the results that absorption rate of the adiabatic absorber with structured packing is much higher than that without packing. Packing in the absorber increased enough space and time for absorption process and reduced absorber size remarkably.
