Summary

An experimental transcritical CO2 heat pump water heater system was designed, and the measurement and control system for testing was developed. The performance of transcritical CO2 heat pump systems with (TRCS-EJEC) and without (TRCS) ejector was analyzed by changing flow rate of cooling water or adjusting the throttle valve. The flow rate, entrainment ratio, compression ratio and efficiency of ejector were investigated. The experimental results showed that the heating coefficient of TRCS-EJEC was improved by 7.3% to 13.9% compared with that of TRCS when heated water temperature ranged from 63°C to 55°C. Development of high efficient ejector was a critical factor on optimizing transcritical CO2 heat pump system.
