Experimental study on dynamic ice storing characteristics of ice slurry in tank.

Author(s) : QING C. Y., XIAO R., ZHANG H. C., et al.

Summary

In order to get the dynamic characteristics in the ice storage process of dynamic ice thermal storage system, one experimental system was set up, and then parameters affecting on the contour of ice rich layer were analyzed, which includes inlet ice slurry flow rate, ice mass fraction, initial liquid level and the inlet opening deployment. The experimental data indicate that ice slurry flow rate and inlet ice mass fraction have the predominant effects on the contour of ice rich layer and its uniformity, adjusting both of the parameters properly can improve the uniformity of the rich layer and increase the volume effective utilization rate of the tank.
