Experimental study on the heat transfer performance of freeze-dryer's cold trap.

Author(s) : DENG D., XU L.

Summary

The factors affecting the performance of the cold trap are studied. The primary factors affecting the heat transfer performance of cold trap are vacuum, temperature of the cold trap coil and frost thickness. Research results reveal that the cold trap capacity of capturing vapour increases with the decrease of the temperature of cold trap, the overall heat transfer coefficient of the cold trap decreases with the increase of frost accumulation on the surface of the cold trap coil, and the heat transfer decrease with the increase of the vacuum of cold trap.
