Experimental study on the impacts of ultrasound on the supercooling of water.
Author(s) : ZHANG S. Z., CHEN G. M., YOU P. Q.
Summary
Research on the supercooling of water is important in many fields. The pressure fluctuation brought about by ultrasound will influence the supercooling and nucleation process of water. Experiments were carried out to investigate the supercooling of water under 800 KHz ultrasound. It was found that ultrasound can decrease the degree of supercooling of water. This effect is thought to be related to cavitation.
