FACTORS AFFECTING RESISTANCE TO AIR FLOW THROUGH AVOCADOS PACKED IN FIBERBOARD CRATES.

Author(s) : HAAS E., FELSENSTEIN G.

Summary

THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THE RESEARCH IS TO DETERMINE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PRESSURE DROPS AND AIR VELOCITY FOR CARTONS WITH DIFFERENT PERFORATED SURFACE AREAS AND 1 TO 7 CARTONS STORED IN THE AIR FLOW PATH. THE TESTS WERE CARRIED OUT WITH AVOCADOES OR EMPTY CARTONS. IT IS RECOMMENDED TO USE AVOCADO CARTONS WITH AN 8.2% PERFORATED SURFACE AREA IN THE WALL PERPENDICULAR TO THE AIR FLOW.
