A feasibility study is carried out for developing a screw expander applied in CO2 refrigeration system to recovery power. The main characteristics of screw expander are analyzed and the advantages of screw expander applied in CO2 transcritical cycle are given and compared with other types of expanders. Corresponding to the properties of CO2 cycle, the key technologies of CO2 screw expander are proposed and the characteristics of the CO2 screw expander are mentioned.
