Type of article: Article
Summary
Within the framework of a broad study which included the drawing up of an inventory of refrigerants and refrigerant emissions, the Centre énergétique et procédés (CEP) at the Ecole des Mines in Paris, commissioned by Ademe, performed a forecast up until 2017 in order to provide a forecast on refrigerants at that date. The forecasts are based on three types of scenarios described in detail in the article, and focus on the overall demand as well as the emissions levels and degree of recovery of refrigerants. The report also presents the value of fine tuning the analysis to take into account key sectors (commercial refrigeration, industrial refrigeration, refrigerated transport, fixed air-conditioning systems...). The authors provide an overview of the report in this file.
