Environment Agency discloses the status of CFC recovery.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The Environment Agency disclosed the results of its fact-finding survey of CFCs recovered in fiscal year 1996 (April '96-March '97). According to the survey, there was a certain progress in recovery of CFCs from household refrigerators, promoted by local governments, and destruction of CFCs, promoted through model projects. However, CFCs recovered from automotive air conditioning accounted for only 40% of those recovered in 1995 and CFCs recovered from commercial refrigeration and air conditioning equipment accounted for only 50% of those recovered in that same year.
