Filter-driers and HFC refrigerants.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The new refrigerant and lubricant combinations that have appeared in the wake of CFC and HCFC regulations have brought many changes to liquid-line filter-driers. The introduction of R410A and polyolester (POE) has created many design challenges in terms of water and solid contaminant removal, refrigerant and lubricant compatibility, and increased working pressures of the systems. The overview describes how engineers have met the challenges of working with R410A.
