FINITE DIFFERENCE ANALYSIS OF TRANSIENT FREE CONVECTION ON AN ISOTHERMAL FLAT PLATE.
Author(s) : SOUNDALGEKAR V. M., GANESAN P.
Type of article: Article
Summary
IMPLICIT FINITE-DIFFERENCE TECHNIQUE HAS BEEN APPLIED TO SOLVE THE TRANSIENT FREE-CONVECTIVE FLOW OF AN INCOMPRESSIBLE VISCOUS FLUID PAST A SEMI-INFINITE VERTICAL PLATE. THE RESULTS ARE SHOWN GRAPHICALLY FOR DIFFERENT VALUES OF THE PRANDTL NUMBER. IT HAS BEEN OBSERVED THAT THE MEAN NUSSELT NUMBER INCREASES WITH INCREASING PRANDTL NUMBER.
