Summary
The experimental study investigates the nature of the fluid flow in various modified version of a high heat-flux, multi-cell, very compact heat exchanger. The device is composed of multiple square cells machined in a honeycomb arrangement into the backside of a silicon mirror blank. Each cell contains a circular pin at its center which spans the narrow gap between the mirror substrate at one side of the flow channel and the coolant header plate on the other.
