FLUID DYNAMICS OF CONDENSATION IN CROSSFLOW THROUGH COOLED BANK OF TUBES.

Type of article: Article

Summary

STARTING FROM MASS AND MOMENTUM FLUID MECHANICS EQUATIONS, THE AUTHORS GIVE A MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR CONDENSATION OF A VAPOUR-GAS MIXTURE IN CROSS FLOW THROUGH AN HORIZONTAL BANK OF TUBES. THEY OBTAIN A SET OF EQUATIONS TO DETERMINE LOCAL VALUES OF THE INTENSITY OF CONDENSATION AND COOLING LIQUID TEMPERATURE. THE MODEL IS APPLIED TO A PREVIOUSLY DESIGNED SURFACE STEAM CONDENSER, FOR WHICH AN IMPROVEMENT OF EFFICIENCY IS DISCUSSED.
