Summary
Within the framework of reorganization of food safety monitoring systems, the French Parliament has approved a text that will lead to the setting up of the "Agence française de sécurité sanitaire des aliments" (French Food Safety Agency). This body will have supervisory ministries (the Ministries of Health, Economy and Agriculture) and will be in charge of performing scientific assessment of risks in the food sector.
