Summary

This report is the French contribution to measures and policies aiming at lowering emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases to 1990 levels by the year 2000. France has a particularly low level of greenhouse gas emissions when compared with the population and economy. Synopsis: greenhouse effect and "Climate" convention, national characteristics and French emissions, policies and measures to reduce the emissions, international cooperation and research.
