Summary

4.6 wt% ethylene glycol solution is used as a test fluid to compare the results with those of water. The thermal properties of ice formed in the solution flow are different from those of ice formed in water flow. The present analytical results for freeze-shut conditions of water as well as solution flows agree with the experimental data, and the occurrence of freeze shut is more difficult in the case of 4.6 wt% ethylene glycol solution.
