Type of article: Article

Summary

IODIDE AND 2-MERCAPTOETHANOL CAUSE IRREVERSIBLE INACTIVATIONS ON FROZEN-THAWED SOLUTIONS OF MALATE DEHYDROGENASES FROM SEVERAL SOURCES. IN CONTRAST, WHEN BOTH REAGENTS ARE PRESENT SIMULTANEOUSLY, HIGHERRESIDUAL ACTIVITIES ARE FOUND, WHICH ARE DEPENDENT ON THEIR CONCENTRATION RATIO. THE EFFECTS OF COENZYMES, PROTEIN AND BUFFERS ON THE INACTIVATION HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED.
