THE BENEFITS OF REFRIGERATED SEA WATER, SOME PROBLEMS WITH THE ADDITION OF ICE AND STORAGE OF WET FISH IN BOXES ARE DISCUSSED. AIR BLAST FREEZING AND PLATE FREEZERS ARE BOTH USED, FREEZING TIMES FOR THE FORMER BEING 8-10 HOURS, AND FOR THE LATTER, 3 HOURS FOR A 75 MILLIMETRE THICK BLOCK. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF CONDENSERS, COMPRESSORS AND PIPE WORK, THE USE OF EXTENDED OR REMOTE SUMPS FOR COMPRESSORS BEING A PARTICULAR POINT.
