WITH THE EVER INCREASING TONNAGES OF FISH BEING CAUGHT BY JAPA NESE FISHING VESSELS, DEEP SEA FISHING FLEETS ARE BEING FITTED, OR BEING CONVERTED, WITH BRINE IMMERSION FREEZING SYSTEMS AS LARGE QUANTITIES OF THE FISH HAULS CAN BEFROZEN IN A VERY SHORT TIME. MOST OF THE ONBOARD FROZEN FISH ARE PROCESSED INTO CANNED FOODS BUT CERTAIN HIGHER QUALITY FISH ARE CONSUMED RAW.
