THERE ARE AT PRESENT IN FRANCE 64,000 SALE POINTS FOR FROZEN FOODS, WITH AN APPARENT MARKET (ON THE WHOLE 408,609 T , -NATIONAL PRODUCTION + IMPORTS , -MINUS EXPORTS) WHICH INCREASED -BY 11% IN 1979 COMPARED TO 1978. THE FIRST TABLE SHOWS THIS INCREASE, DETAILING THE KINDS OF PRODUCTS. THE OVERALL NATIONAL CONSUMPTION OF FROZEN VEGETABLES REACHED 120,728 T (WITH, AT THE FIRST PLACE, SNAP BEANS: 25,328 T), THAT OF FROZEN MEAT (MAINLY GROUND MEAT) WAS 120,728 T, I.E. 29% MORE THAN IN 1978. THE SECOND TABLE SHOWS 34% INCREASE IN IMPORTS AND 60% IN EXPORTS, AND THE THIRD TABLE (GRAPH) STRESSES THE INCREASE IN THE SALE OF FROZEN FOODS FOR DIRECT CONSUMPTION BETWEEN 1973 AND 1979.
