Fuites d’ammoniac gazeux et liquéfié sous pression : résultats préliminaires issus des essais à moyenne échelle de l’INERIS.
Author(s) : INERIS
Type of article: Periodical article
Summary
As ammonia (NH3) is commonly used for "industrial cooling", INERIS studied the behaviour of NH3 leaks under confined and ventilated conditions, as in a machine room. The medium-scale testing campaign collected data in order to improve knowledge on the dispersion of liquefied and pressurized NH3, to validate the relevance of the numerical models used for leak-scenario predictions. The first results confirm that in the case of two-phased releases, a "trapping" phenomenon was observed in the form of puddles under an obstacle.
