Summary

In relation to the problem of supercooling for ice storage devices, various kinds of experiments were carried out to find some factors which control the supercooling phenomenon. It was found that factors such as convection, vibration and non-contacting shock have no effect on the freezing of supercooled water except adding some positive energy to water. On the other hand, collision or rubbing between solids or between a solid and a liquid surface in supercooled water helps the water to freeze.
