Summary

By analysing the principle of the supercooling phenomenon for ice of salt eutectic, the authors reach the following conclusions: the supercooling phenomenon, necessary in the process of freezing of the pure liquid material, provides impetus; the existence of nucleating substances reduces the degree of supercooling. It was found that CuS is the best nucleating substance for the salt eutectic solution (KCl) used in the mechanical cooling plate refrigerating wagon; SiO2 is another choice.
