Author(s) : KATO T.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Gas engine heat pump air conditioners demonstrate superior performance especially at cold area over electric heat pump air conditioner. This is realized because a higher heating capacity is assured and also the defrosting hardly occurs, thanks to the heat source obtained from cooling the engine. The author has achieved a COP of 1.5 on the average of cooling and heating by improving the efficiency of the scroll compressor, gas engine and refrigeration cycle among others.
