Summary

THE AUTHORS PRESENT A SIMULATIONPROGRAM, EVAC, WHICH CAN BE APPLIED TO THE CALCULATION OF PLANE EVAPORATORS WITH FINNED TUBES, FOR THE COOLING OF HUMID AIR. IT MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO DESIGN EVAPORATORS WITH PUMPED CIRCULATION, WITH NATURAL CONVECTION OR DIRECT INJECTION. THE ACCURACY OF THE RESULTS OF SIMULATIONS IS WITHIN PLUS OR MINUS 10%, COMPARED TO EXPERIMENTAL MEASUREMENTS, FOR A WIDE RANGE OF GEOMETRIES AND OPERATING CONDITIONS.
