Novel electronic high reliability valve principle for control of direct expansion.

Summary

This paper deals with the description, behaviour and performance of a novel electronic expansion valve principle (direct expansion). The electronic valve consists of a thermostatic expansion valve (TEV) with internal equalisation and an electronic actuator which replaces the standard sensor. By controlling the energy balance of the actuator adequately it is possible to electronically emulate the normal function of the TEV. The position of the actuator initialises the thermodynamic state of the valve and generates several advantages.
