Summary

AFTER 8 YEARS OF PILOT PROJECTS, COOLING CEILINGS SEEM AT LAST TO BE ACCEPTED BY THE MARKET. IN SUCH SYSTEMS COOLING COMES FROM CIRCULATING COLD WATER, AND VENTILATION IS USED ONLY FOR AIR RENEWAL, HUMIDIFICATION (IN WINTER) AND DEHUMIDIFICATION (IN SUMMER). THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES SOME OF THE VARIOUS SYSTEMS AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET. PRECISE DATA ARE STILL LACKING AS CONCERNS SUITABLE COOLING CAPACITY (FROM 65 TO 130 W/M2 ). HE ALSO DESCRIBES SOME OTHER NEW VENTILATION AND COOLING INSTALLATIONS AND THEIR RESPECTIVE MARKETS, PARTICULARLY IN LIGHT OF THE COMING RESTRICTIONS ON R11 AND R22.
