Graphite fibers inserted or impregnated for a solid sorption heat pump.

Fibres de graphite insérées ou imprégnées pour pompe à chaleur à sorption solide.

Summary

Their high thermal energy densities make solid sorption heat pumps based on the ammonia metal chloride reactions very attractive. The utilization of carbon fibers mixed with the salt can ensure high heat transfer in the reactor and can also avoid the agglomeration of the reactive powder during the absorption of ammonia. Two kinds of carbon fibers are described: graphite fibers intercalation compounds and impregnated carbon fibers. Maximum energy and high power have been obtained.
