Graphite fibres for chemical heat pumps.
Utilisation des fibres de graphite pour les pompes à chaleur chimiques.

Type of article: Article
Summary
The authors make use of the properties of a reversible reaction between manganese chloride and ammonia. In order to enhance heat and mass transfer and thus raise the capacity, the metal chloride is placed in a binding agent comprising about 25% carbon or graphite fibres. Thanks to the thermal properties obtained, practically 100% energy efficiency and very high system capacity are achieved. Given the performance coefficients, recoverable energy is 1730 kJ/kg of salt in the form of heat, and 500 kJ/kg in the form of cooling.
