Summary
The Heineken brewery in Den Bosch uses ammonia washers for its refrigeration system. The washers remove oil vapour from the hot ammonia flow to prevent condensors and evaporators becoming fouled and to keep heat transfer at a high level. They produce an energy saving of about 10% per year and also provide a reduction in the emission of ammonia.
