Ground-coupled heat pumps or heating-only and heating and cooling operation.

Author(s) : HALOZAN H., RIEBERER R.

Summary

Ground-coupled heat pump systems offer a lot of advantages for achieving high energy efficiency. For the consumer, such systems offer a low energy bill, for governments the possibility of reducing CO2 emissions with respect to the Toronto request and the Kyoto commitment. Manufacturers have adapted their products to the market needs, they have developed new systems and improved both efficiency and reliability. One measure to improve the situation is international co-operation. Finally, the customer becomes aware of the advantages of highly efficient and environmentally benign heating systems, and as long as confidence in heat pumping technologies can be kept, a successful market development can be expected.
