Summary
The heat transfer model of an underground coil was developed and the underground temperature distribution of the coil was solved numerically. Experimental temperature data were measured. The analytical results were compared thoroughly with the experimental data. The mathematical mode presented may provide guidance for the design of ground heat exchangers for ground-source heat pump systems.
