Summary

The book contains three guidance documents, prepared for the workshop on "Health aspects of chemical accidents" at Utrecht, the Netherlands, in April 1993. While the General Guidance Document is intended to serve as a basis for policy development, the Practical Guides treat health aspects in a more detailed and technical way. They cover: health-related information and communications needs; the organization and planning of health-related response to chemical accidents (list of chemicals including ammonia, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, etc); health aspects of chemical accident response.
