HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER IN A SOLID DESICCANT DEHUMIDIFIER: THEORETICAL MODEL AND EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS.

Author(s) : CARMI Y., KORIN E., BORDE I.

Summary

THE COP OF AN OPEN-CYCLE SOLID-ADSORBENT SYSTEM, FOR BOTH COOLING AND AIR CONDITIONING, DEPENDS CONSIDERABLY ON THE PERFORMANCE OF THE SOLID ADSORBENT. THE CONCEPT OF AIR FLOW BETWEEN PARALLEL PLATES COATED WITH THIN LAVERS OF SORBENT IS CONSIDERED AS ONE OF THE MOST PROMISING, IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS COMPONENT. THE MAIN ADVANTAGES ARE: A VERY LOW PRESSURE LOSS AND A LOW RESISTANCE TO HEAT AND MASS TRANSFERS.
