Three-stage adsorption chiller driven by heat of 50 deg C.

Summary

The paper is concerned with a three-stage adsorption chiller, for air-conditioning applications, which is operational with a driving heat source of 50 deg C, a cooling source of 30 deg C and evaporation at 7 deg C. This is made possible by splitting the evaporator-condenser pressure lift into three smaller lifts, with a newly-developed three-stage advanced cycle. The paper describes the advanced three-stage cycle operating principle, briefly outlines the experiments and simulation procedure, and discusses results obtained by varying the hot and cooling water inlet temperatures.
