Type of monograph: Other

Summary

The report describes a laboratory study to verify the accuracy of a personal computer program, developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, MOIST, for 12 different wall specimens. The measured heat transfer rates, moisture content levels and relative humidities were compared to the predictions of MOIST. Extract of contents: experiment; specimen materials properties; comparison of experimental results to MOIST; comparisons of MOIST and TARP (Thermal Analysis Research Program) ; comparison of steady-state heat flux measurements to ASHRAE predictions; effect of moisture on heat transfer. Permeance measurements are given in an appendix.
