HEAT PUMP ODOURS: IN SEARCH OF A SOLUTION.

Author(s) : CHECKET-HANKS B.

Type of article: Article

Summary

ODOURS, AND POSSIBLY BACTERIA, ARE COLLECTED ON COIL FINS WHEN COOLING, AND MAY BE RELEASED WHEN THE COIL IS HEATING. COATING FINS WITH SILICONES OR OTHER SEALANTS, AND WASHING DOWN THE COIL CAN CURE THE PROBLEM. OVERSIZING OF THE UNIT, OR RUNNING AT A HIGH ROOM TEMPERATURE, ARE THOUGHT TO INCREASE THE PROBLEM.
