IMPROVEMENTS TO HEAT EXCHANGERS FOR HEAT PUMPS ESSENTIALLY RESULTED, DURING THE RECENT YEARS, IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF TUBE GEOMETRIES FOR THE EXCHANGE SURFACE OF THESE UNITS. A SYNTHESIS OF DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES DEVELOPED AND MARKETED IS OUTLINED IN THIS PAPER. ON THE OTHER HAND, THE RECENT ADVENT OF PLATE EXCHANGERS AS REFRIGERANT CONDENSERS AND EVAPORATORS IS A DEVELOPMENT TO BE NOTED.
