Heat pump product and market data – Tools and analysis.

Number: 1262

Author(s) : OLTERSDORF T., GARASHLI E., FUGMANN H., SCHNABEL L.

Summary

Product and market data are a powerful tool not only for associations and market assessing consultancy companies but also for researchers to identify in a holistic manner design constraints for efficient heat pumps. The formerly defined top-down-approach based on product data was extended by certain additional parameters (time, size, weight) and combines more analysis based on market data. Over the past five years the authors have developed certain methodologies to keep track with the complex big datasets, and thus gaining insights into the market. Attention had to be paid to filter out large number of duplicates when merging databases. This publication gives insights in the current state of this merged databases but also the use of it and its results. A first result is the visible impact of the upcoming F-gas regulation (in 2024) as a harbinger on the use of Propane heat pumps within the last years.
