Summary

THE AUTHORS PRESENT A SOLUTION FOR THE USE OF THE HEAT FROM OIL COOLERS OF POWER TRANSFORMERS IN A PUMPED STORAGE STATION. SIX 158 MVA TRANSFORMERS WERE INSTALLED IN THE STATION. 580 KILOWATT ARE EXTRACTED BY THE COOLER OF EACH TRANSFORMER IN FULL OPERATION AND 150 KILOWATTWITHOUT LOAD. THE WATER TEMPERATURE AT THE OUTLET OF THE COOLER IS 296 K (23 DEG C) ALL YEAR ROUND. IN PARALLEL, THE REQUIREMENTS OF 26 MEGAWATTHOUR/24 HOURS FOR HEATING AND 5 MEGAWATTHOUR/24 HOURS FOR HOT WATER ARE MET BY TRANSFORMER HEAT.
