Summary
The paper deals with heat recovery in refrigeration systems in a water heating application. The basic principles of heat recovery along with examples of technical solutions have been presented. The authors have paid close attention to the selected aspects of operation of water heating systems such as temperature control and harmful effects caused by a lack of water consumption. The practical solution of heat recovery system for refrigeration unit of capacity of 300 kW operating in a pharmaceutical entreprise has been presented. The authors concluded that the refrigeration units of such a type are particularly suitable for application in a water heating system by means of heat recovery.
