Summary

EXPERIMENTS WERE PERFORMED TO CLARIFY THE EFFECTS OF AIR FLUIDIZING VELOCITY, PARTICLE DIAMETER, TUBE DIAMETER, AND PITCH BETWEEN THE TUBES ON THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT FOR A BUNDLE OF HORIZONTAL TUBES IMMERSED IN AGGREGATIVE FLUIDIZED BED. THE AVERAGE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT AND ITS MAXIMUM VALUE WERE DEPENDENT ON THE PARTICLE DIAMETER, AIR FLUIDIZING VELOCITY, AND THE RATIOS OF PARTICLE TO TUBE DIAMETER AND OF DISTANCE BETWEEN THE TUBES TO PARTICLE DIAMETER. THE PROPOSED CORRELATION WAS SHOWN TO BE IN GOOD AGREEMENT WITH THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS. (BULL. JSME, JP., 29, N 252, 1986/06, 1965.
