Heat transfer coefficient for boiling carbon dioxide.

Summary

Heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop for boiling carbon dioxide (R744) flowing in a horizontal pipe has been measured. The pipe is heated by condensing R22 outside the pipe. The heat input is supplied by an electrical heater which evaporates the R22. With the heat flux assumed constant over the whole surface and with the measured temperature difference between the inner surface and the evaporation temperature a mean heat transfer coefficient is calculated.
