HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS OF INTERNALLY FINNED EVAPORATORS.

EVAPORATEURS AVEC TURBULATEURS INTERNES.

Author(s) : MALEK A., COLIN R.

Summary

HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS OF INTERNALLY FINNED COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE EVAPORATORS USING R12 FLUID HAVE BEEN EXPERIMENTALLY DETERMINED AND COMPARED WITH THOSE OBTAINED WITH EVAPORATORS OF THE SAME GEOMETRY MODIFIED TO INCREASE HEAT TRANSFER, AND WITH A FLATTENED TUBE EVAPORATOR. RESULTS HAVE SHOWN THAT INTERNALLY FINNED TUBES ARE MUCH MORE EFFICIENT THAN CYLINDRAL TUBES IN HEAT TRANSFER AT LOW FLUXES THAN AT HIGH FLUXES. MODIFIED SURFACE INTERNALLY FINNED TUBES HOWEVER SHOW GOOD RESULTS AT HEAT FLUXES AS HIGH AS 50 KILOW/M2.
