Summary

THE PAPER TAKES THE WORK OF KELKAR AND PATANKAR ON LOW VELOCITY FLOW BETWEEN PARALLEL PLATES WITH TRANSVERSE STAGGERED FINS, AND DEVELOPS CORRELATING RELATIONSHIPS. THE CONCLUSION IS THAT, FOR REYNOLDS NUMBERS NOT EXCEEDING 600, A CORRELATION EXISTS BETWEEN THE NUSSELT NUMBER AND ALL OTHER PARAMETERS WHICH IS ACCURATE WITHIN MORE OR LESS 10%, PROVIDING THE FIN HEIGHT IS EXACTLY HALF THE WIDTH BETWEEN PLATES.
